The acting Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Leading University will automatically be designated as the Patron of the EARL (Electronics, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics Laboratory) Research Network. This role comes with a responsibility to ensure smooth operations and maintain collaborative standards across the network.
Each PI (Principal Investigator) of laboratories hosted within the EARL Research Network will operate independently, free from any obligation to the Network’s Patron. This independence enables each lab’s PI to pursue specific research objectives and initiatives within their field of expertise, while the Network Patron's role is to provide oversight, facilitate communication, and support resource management to promote cohesive and effective research efforts across the network.
New faculty members supervising thesis or research projects will fall under the section for University Supervisors.
Students falling under junior faculty members supervising their thesis or research projects, which will lead to a publication, will have a separate section on the Ongoing Projects Section. The students will automatically be added to the database of the EARL research team, and their work with the supervisor will be hosted on our website's research projects upon publication of their paper.
In order to be hosted on the EARL Research Network, the applying laboratory's Principal Investigator must have completed a significant body of research work with evidence (published conference papers, supervised projects, taken research related seminars) with students of the Department of EEE at Leading University.
Applicants must hold the position of a senior lecturer (2 years or above) or higher positions in order to be eligible for hosting their laboratory's work on the EARL Research Network.
Applicants must fill out a mandatory form in order to host their laboratory work on the EARL Research Network.
The Research Engineers must have at least 1 research paper publication as the first (lead) author.
The Research Engineers must publish at least 1 research paper (conference) per year in collaboration with at least one of the undergraduate or graduate students of the Department of EEE at Leading University.
The Research Engineers are independent of any obligation to the university lecturers. Their work is their own.
The students must submit a mandatory form in order to work with the Research Engineers they are interested in.
The Patron will decide whether or not the students will work under the Research Engineers.
The Research Engineers can work with a maximum of 4 students per research project.
Current thesis students (4th year) will be eligible for the position of research assistantship.
The students working with supervisors or laboratory PIs will be qualified for research assistantships.
Research Assistants must have a LinkedIn account in order to be hosted on EARL Research Network with a professional profile image.
All members must be active on the EARL Research Network WhatsApp Community.
A dedicated WhatsApp group must be created within the EARL Research Network WhatsApp Community for each research project involving students, intended to document all work progress and activities.
The research groups will be private and the Research Engineer or the Principal Investigator of the research group will follow the ethics of research and not disclose confidential work.
The Patron will hold the right to ask for experimental results and progress reports of the research groups.
The certificate of Research Assistantship will be provided only if there is consent from both the Principal Investigator and the supervisor/co-supervisor, investigator or research engineer.
A Principal Investigator (PI) can issue a Research Assistantship certificate without including specific institutional details like EARL (the name of the research program or lab) if they choose to do so. The certificate typically outlines the student's role, responsibilities, and contributions to the research project, and the level of detail included can vary based on the PI's preferences.
The signature of the laboratory specific Principal Investigator is mandatory on all certificates of that laboratory issued by EARL.
Any certificate without the stamp of the department of EEE of Leading University issued by EARL will be invalid.
A mandatory form must be filled out by the students in order to join the research network; the form is available in the important forms section.
New students joining the research network must pay a mandatory one-time fee for registration to cover the web hosting, events, and seminar expenses.
The paid fee must be documented and used for the sake of EARL Research Network.
The treasurer will document all the expenses and must be able to provide the documentation of the expenses.
Any expenses made from the treasury outside of the benefit of EARL Research Network must be reimbursed by the treasurer.
Students misbehaving with the alumni or the research engineers will be charged strictly.
Students will not repeatedly text or ring the alumni within a short period of time.
EARL Research Network will host the work of the members who have given their written consent.
Off-topic or unprofessional conversations in the EARL WhatsApp community are discouraged and may be met with negative consequences.
The leadership team will hold the power for making administrative decisions of EARL Research Network. The leadership team (founder, principal coordinator, advisor, secretary, treasurer, webmaster), research engineers, investigators, and PI must be present physically or virtually while taking important decisions. The decisions will be taken democratically.
All research-related videos will be hosted on the official EARL Research Network YouTube channel, provided we have the consent of the researchers involved. For Principal Investigators (PIs) of individual laboratories within the network, videos will not be hosted without their explicit consent.
Should researchers request the removal of their videos, the EARL Research Network will ensure they are taken down within 24 to 72 hours of receiving the request.
Until an independent EARL Research Network channel is established, videos will be temporarily hosted as “unlisted” on Abdulla Nasir Chowdhury’s YouTube channel.
Non-compliance with these rules may result in a permanent ban from the research network.
EARL Research Network will provide a separate website for the PIs of individual laboratories, given their consent.
EARL Research Network will provide alumni profiles upon request. A form must be filled out with the required documents.
EARL Research Network will provide a dedicated section for the supervisors, investigators, and principal investigators of their laboratories.
EARL Research Network will provide a dedicated section for the research engineers to host their work.
EARL Research Network will provide a section to the graduate students upon request. A form must be filled out with the required documents.
EARL Research Network will provide certificates of Research Assistantship, Experience and, Letters of Recommendations. The signature of the Principal Investigators of the laboratory under which the student is serving is mandatory in all cases.
